Levels

Beginner: If you have little or no experience in Balboa, this level is for you! We will start from the basics and work up to transform you into a lean, mean, Balboa machine.

Intermediate: To register for the intermediate level you must know, be comfortable with and dance on a regular basis the following figures:

  • Basic step
  • Turn
  • Throw-out and basic variations (outside turn, sweetheart/cuddle)
  • lollies
  • crossovers
  • swivels

    In this level, we will focus on learning and expanding new vocabulary and more technique to get your Balboa to new heights!

    Advanced: Go back and read the intermediate level description. Not only is this vocabulary familiar, but you can name from the top of your head half a dozen variations for each? the advanved level is for you! You are generally recognized as a lead/follow with whom it's fun to dance Balboa with. This level will focus on new variations, more intense topics and more advanced technique, and will run at a brisk pace.

    Invitational Classes: We've asked to all qualified Balboa instructors to get us a list of names for the invitational classes. If you believe your name should be on the list, your teacher should refer you! These two classes are $30 for full weekend pass holders, $50 for everyone else.
