Balboa ConneXion

Balboa is a dance that was born on the West Coast of the United States in the 1930s. It is characterized by its small and intricate footwork, as well as its distinctive rotative feeling. BCX is the first Balboa team in Canada, having been founded by Zack & Maryse in 2003.

History & Accomplishments

BCX was born in 2003 as the Swinging Air Force All Bal Team, and has at various times been comprised of anywhere from 7 to 12 couples. In the following years, their tight routines have won accolades in events worldwide: second place at the Grand Nationals in Atlanta, third place at the US Open in Anaheim, second and first place at the Canadian Championships... Lately, they've been taking a break from competition to focus on their last big project: in April 2008, they went back to where the dance started, on the island of Balboa near San Diego, California, to perform in front of the old masters of the dance.

They're now training for their next competition routine.
